So Page France isn’t on the road right now. It is a large price to pay, but the tiny, bug-like dividend is that a special and rare performance by Michael Nau — yes, the brilliant and prolific and Whiffle ball-loving lead singer of both outfits — as The Cotton Jones Basket Ride (a band name that ellicits all kinds of carnival bluster and Robert Redford and Paul Newman shenanigans) will take place a week from Friday at New York City’s The Cake Shop, during the roaring CMJ festival, not the roaring 20s as one would think. Personally, and I’m speaking on the behalf of humanity, they don’t get much better than “Chariot,” below.
