Daytrotter has egotistically dubbed itself the home of the essay question and to help us keep a stranglehold on that assertion, we will continually bring you new opportunities to tackle not just our essay questions, but those of your new favorite rock and roll groups. In the process, Daytrotter will assume another distinction as the home of the great dirty band shirt giveaway. This week, Philip Dickey, drummer, guitarist and songwriter for Springfield, Mo’s own Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin (if you don’t know them by now…you may never, never know them) has parted with his chocolate brown hoodie, a valuable keepsake if there ever was one. To win this piece of clothing, which was religiously worn inside-out by the affable Dickey, the band has determined its very own asking price/essay question: “Tell us 10 interesting things about Boris Yeltsin. Spelling and grammar will also be graded. It can be a list, but we would be more impressed with an essay.” Wouldn’t we all? All responses due at info@daytrotter.com by April 23. Winner gets a Daytrotter T-shirt and that hoodie with the undisclosed stains on the hood. Lucky!
