Casey Dienel was born into, of and for candlelight. It’s mostly because of the general warmth of spirit that she emits, but it’s also a suggestion that the words she sings and the music she plays makes you want to stare at them and it as you would a flickering tear of orangy yellow light in a dark room. They share the same qualities. Dienel visited us along with her friend Angel and Tigersaw’s Dylan Metrano. She said some lovely things about having a crush on Iowa. She made handicrafts by the afternoon and drank wine in a pee-smelling basement later that night. It was memorable for many reasons, not just the pee.
