There was fire in the air when we turned on the mood lighting in the studio and George Hunter walked his way up to the microphone. The fire turned to fear as Hunter was forced to run through “Please Come Back,” a song that demands the most from his throat, five times to get the sound right in the room. He worried about his voice coming back from the show later that night, but said it always does. It’s the same voice that got him through three shows in one day at SXSW the next month. He admits that four would have been pushing it. Flawless in their performances, Catfish Haven embody the essential parts that any headphone-fearing song should have: guts, thumping hearts and some bees in the bonnet to cause a little disrupt. Hunter belts out these four love songs as if life itself depended on the women in question making things right again, loving him right again – when sweetness was in every peck and fondness was inescapable. – Sean Moeller

You Can Have Me (Catfish Haven) [3.45MB] [3573 downloads]

original version appears on the EP “Please Come Back”

Down By Your Fire (Catfish Haven) [4.51MB] [3717 downloads]

unreleased song set to appear on full-length due in September “This is a man on his last leg, pleading for one last chance. The world is a pretty cold place when you’re alone. Sometimes you need someone to heat things up.”

Madelin (Catfish Haven) [2.34MB] [3122 downloads]

original version appears on the EP “Please Come Back”
