We get out into this large expanse and we don't know what to do with ourselves. We're dropped off in the middle of nowhere, but it happens to be a place that we've always wanted to see. It's one of those places that feels like it should be home, but it just doesn't go by that term. We'd like to believe that we could brave it out here, with all of the intangibles, with all of the unknown and yet, it sure would be good to have someone familiar to cling to or to lean on.
Los Angeles group Wildcat! Wildcat! makes us feel like we're out there somewhere with the snow drifts and the flatlands, with the high visibility, but we're not isolated like the Fleet Foxes might make us feel in similar conditions. We're there with our wits and a space heater and a few of the people closest to us. We're there on the edge of kingdom come and it's looking like someone's dressed up a truck stop. There's a wide open field and the summer's crept in to take over the atmosphere. It's burning up and yet we couldn't be any happier with what's happening. We're thinking about falling in love because this would be a good place for us to do such a thing. We're thinking about just lying back and taking in some of this heat.
