This session marks the first and only time in the eight years of Daytrotter that some complete stranger emailed and said, "Hey, I'm in Rock Island today, just driving through. I write songs and would love to play some for you," and we said, "Sure, come on by." These things just don't usually work out, but Wyndham Baird turned out to be quite unlike anyone who had ever done that before or has since done that. It's easy to tell why that is. To us, this chance meeting, was like having Woody Guthrie pound on our door, telling us he'd just moved in next door and he was looking to borrow a cup of sugar for a recipe. We thought he might bring some of those cookies over after they'd come out of the oven, but we haven't heard from him since.
